I kept reading in the Facebook groups about people experiencing diarrhoea. I admit to thinking, I wish, at least with that you lose weight, unlike constipation where you seem to hang on to it. But oh my, be careful what you wish for. It has not been too bad, it has only lasted 24 hours, so far, and I am starting to feel better.
Wednesday 17 July – Magic pill by Johann Hari

I have just finished reading this book and I can highly recommend it if you are interested in the background, science, and future of weight loss jabs. It’s a book about weight loss, why we gain weight, the impact of ultra processed food, why diets often don’t work, it covers a wide range of topics, and all through the lens of weight loss injections.
Sunday 14 July 2024 – 2 stones down!
Sunday 7 July – The trouble with milestones

This week I have reached 2 milestones, I have lost 10% of my body weight and I am the lowest weight I have been since at least 2020. I was hoping for 3 milestones at once, I only need to lose just over 1lb to hit my 2 stone goal, hopefully that will be next week. But I have to admit it doesn’t feel very ‘milestoney’, and it’s because I have been here before, many times.
Sunday 30 June – I had a bad day!
Sunday 23 June – The 6 week review

It’s been 6 weeks today since I took my first jab. The time has gone really quickly. Things are starting to feel more normal now. I am less obsessed and enjoying the new feeling.
In total I have lost 1 stone 8.4 lb or 22.4 lbs. I thought it was time for a review of feelings, symptoms, and learnings.
Thursday 21 June – The exercise factor

This week I decided to step up my game and get back into exercise.
I have been to 2 classes this week and this morning my weight is down again. I’m at dead on 16 stone. So, the next day or two will be critical as I have to navigate the moving across that invisible line into the next stone! Do my scales understand the psychological impact of the difference between 16.0 and 15.13? I doubt it!
I am a fan of exercise, when it is doing something I enjoy. That is the simple and easy secret. Find something that you enjoy and then it doesn’t feel like an effort.
Wednesday 12 June – The first 5mg jab
Thursday 6 June – The nutrition edition

I’m halfway through week 4 and the weight loss has slowed. I’m noticing that I am able to eat more. I find myself fancying my dinner a bit earlier. I’m still not eating any rubbish, it’s probably the longest I’ve ever gone without biscuits, chocolate, cake, crisps etc of any kind. I would usually be trying to replace junk with healthier junk, but still junk.
This week I have only lost 0.5lb so far, which takes my total to 17lb. I am not complaining. I went to Center Parcs for a week and came back lighter. I am determined to celebrate these wins.
I’ve spoken about calories and feel it’s time to talk nutrition.
